MAPUSA: Even as the post-mortem reports of the two tourist who died after attending a party at Vagator on Sunday has been kept “reserved,” the local residents of Anjuna were an aggrieved lot.
After the death of two tourists, on Sunday, the Anjuna locals are seething in anger over rave parties and alleged drug cases. It was also reported that a 20-year-old youth from Andhra Pradesh was arrested for possessing drug on Sunday night.
Locals said all this while they were raising their voice only against parties playing loud music but now if people start dying due to alleged drug oversdose, this place will soon earn a bad name like Calangute.
J. Fernandes, a local, said loud rock music was back in vogue, disturbing the peace and tranquility of the area. These parties start late in the night and continue till wee hours.
Another local, A.Fernandes said, the issue was controlled when our MLA Vinod Palyekar took action. The MLA and CM has to give strict instructions to the authorities to curb such nuisance.
Nehal Naik said the entire Vagator Ozarant coast is “famous” for parties but till now such incidents had not taken place here.”

Four arrested with drugs at Anjuna
MAPUSA: A day after the deaths of two tourists of suspected drug overdose, Anjuna Police on Monday arrested four persons for possessing drugs.
According to Anjuna Police, Bengaluru teenagers – Darius John Sarigala, Akash Arun Prasad and Morcio Lanard Mullem and a 21-year-old waiter Manjunath Prakash Anverikar, a resident of Nanerwada, Pernem were arrested for possessing drugs at parking lot of Curlies Restaurant, Anjuna on Monday.
They were found to be in possession of suspected charas worth Rs 16,000 and have been booked under Sections 20(b)(ii)(A) & 29 of the NDPS Act.
