Anjuna police bust sex racket, rescue four women, one held

MAPUSA: Anjuna police on Saturday midnight busted a prostitution racket and rescued four women victims hailing from Maharashtra.

One Praveen Nivrutti Borate (31), native of Ghatkopar (E), Mumbai-Maharashtra was also arrested. 

According to Anjuna Police Station Police Inspector Suraj Gawas, “A raid was conducted on Saturday midnight between 23.30 and 01.00 hours at Baga Spice Hills, Rooms and Cottages, located at Baga, by raiding team consisting Lady Police Sub-Inspector Sneha Sawal, Head Constable Shyamsundar Parsekar, Police Constable Vivekanand Divkar, Lady Police Constables Pratidnya Naik and Pooja Naik.

The four rescued girls were procured by the accused person for prostitution purpose.

The accused person is remanded to five days police custody while all the four victim girls are admitted in Protective Home at Merces.

PI Gawas is investigating the case.
