MAYEM: A sharp rise in water level forced Anjunem dam authorities on Wednesday morning to open all four gates of the dam to release water into the Kusti and Valvanti rivers.
Dam authorities have also alerted people from Keri, Poriem, Morlem and Karapur areas not to venture near Valvanti and Kusti rivers during high tide.
Meanwhile, water at Amthane dam reached its maximum level on Wednesday, causing the water to pass through a weir from the dam area, which flows into local rivers in Usap, Par-Assonora and Nanora.
