CANACONA: Another resident of Palolem tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday taking the active cases in Canacona to six.

It may be recalled that a Palolem resident, who was undergoing treatment for a different ailment at a hospital in Panjim was tested positive on Sunday.
However, the family member, who accompanied him to the hospital tested positive for the virus on Monday.
With Monday’s COVID-19 case, the total cases reported in Canacona are 11 of which five have recovered till now. Six persons including the one, who tested positive on Monday, are undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 care centres across the State.
Dr Vandhana Desai, Health Officer attached to Canacona Health Centre informed that the person, who tested positive for the virus on Monday, is a family member, who was admitted to a private hospital in Panjim for some other ailment and was found COVID positive on Sunday.
“Today’s patient has been admitted to Shiroda COVID-19 medical facility as she was asymptomatic,” Dr Desai added.
