PANJIM: Crime Branch (CB) sleuths busted a prostitution racket with the arrest of a Karnataka-native, who was caught at Patto.
In a raid late Thursday evening, near a hotel at EDC Plaza, the CB team led by PI Satish Gawade arrested Raghvendra Balekundri alias Raghu (25), a native of Belgaum-Karnataka. He was allegedly spotted with two girls, who were meant to be supplied to prospective customers for sex. Another person Surya (full name not known) managed to the give the police a slip.
“The accused procured the victim and exploited them in public place against their will for sex. The girls are rescued and lodged at the Protective Home while the accused is arrested and lodged in police custody,” the officer said.
