PANJIM: The North District Collectorate has directed the Mamlatdars to identify schools for undertaking anti-tobacco awareness campaigns in order to ensure that school students do not fall prey to the contraband substances.
In a review meeting of District Task Force Committee (DTFC) on Tobacco Control, Additional Collector Vikas Gaunekar has sought involvement of schools in the awareness campaign while also proposing a training programme for Konkan Railways, Railway Protection Force, Excise Department and the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited.
The Mamlatdars have also been asked to conduct raids at specific locations and to have a separate drive at Bambolim near Goa Medical College. A training programme was also discussed.
