Apple unveils ‘world’s thinnest tablet’

Apple unveiled its new iPad Air 2 calling it as the “world’s thinnest tablet” along with the new iPad Mini 3 while introducing a new Mac operating system.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, while launching the new
gadgets, called the new iPhones the fastest selling in
the company’s history.
At its new product event at Apple headquarters in
Cupertino, California, Cook also announced that its
new mobile payments system, Apple Pay, will launch
Monday. Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior VP of worldwide
marketing, said the iPad Air 2 features a new antireflective
coating – a first for a tablet.
The iPad Air 2 also features an 8-megapixel iSight
camera and a new-generation A8X chip, which has 3
billion transistors.
Schiller said that for the first time on an iPad, you can
take time lapse and slow-motion video. Apple also
unveiled a slightly updated iPad Mini 3, which comes
in silver, space gray and gold.
Both the Mini and Air incorporate a Touch ID
fingerprint sensor for security, a feature that has been
available on iPhones since last year.
