MARGAO: Terming the Deed of Gift executed by Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) and Costa & Co as prima facie “fraudulent” and “illegal”, the Aquem residents have demanded that the same be cancelled.
The residents made the demand for cancellation of the Deed of Gift in their demand notice to the SAG and Costa and Co. Alarmed by the recent developments on the Aquem Ground issue, the residents further threatened to move the court if their demands were not met.
According to the residents, the said plot in the aforesaid property was reserved as open space for the recreational and leisure purpose.
Those residing in the Venusta Apartments were shocked to learn that on October 4, 2016, by Deed of Gift dated June 22, 2010, Costa and Company Pvt Ltd allegedly, secretly and surreptitiously gifted the said Plot A i.e. said open space to the SAG, making them absolute owners thereof.
“My clients state that the above act of gifting the said open space to the Sports Authority of Goa, was without our knowledge and consent,” the residents said.
“Costa and Company Pvt Ltd had no right and title to gift and transfer the said open space to SAG, and the same is thus per se illegal and mala fide, and consequently the said Deed of Gift needs to be cancelled immediately,” said one of the residents.
