MARGAO: The parishioners of the St Sebastian Church, Aquem, are indignant at the Director of Municipal Administration suspending the revocation order of MMC on the common burial/crematorium ground for people following any faith.
The MMC meanwhile is yet to receive the order.
The St Sebastian parishioners had flatly refused to accept the DMA order restoring Margao municipality order to reserve burial space for persons not professing any faith, which they had protest against and got revoked.
“We will study the DMA order and then decide the future course of action. It appears to be a move to create communal divide,” the parishioners said.
“Nevertheless, we are sure that the DMA Order will remain only on paper. We will ensure that people of all faiths will oppose the implementation of the order tooth and nail, as it will be objectionable to religious sentiments of all faiths,” they said.
