Panjim: Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrão has asked the faithful to contribute generously for gigantic action that Caritas India has launched to reach out to the unfortunate millions scattered through our land amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are all going through troubled times, caused by the unprecedented pandemic. We need to recognise, however, that, among those who have been most affected by this phenomenon — next to those who have fallen victims to the virus and are battling with death as well as those who are mourning the ones who have gone ahead — are the migrant workers, who have been rendered helpless, in various degrees, throughout our country,” says the appeal by Archbishop Filipe Neri.
He further said that we must acknowledge that there has been an intense involvement of the Church in the countrywide efforts to alleviate their plight.
Cheques and demand drafts may be drawn in favour of Caritas-Goa Emergency Calamities, A/c 520101219522622, Corporation Bank, Panaji Branch (IFSC Code – CORP0000259, MICR Code – 403017002), with a note that the amount is towards the Displaced Migrant Workers. Cash donations may be handed over to the respective Parish Priests or at the Caritas-Goa office, Instituto N.S. Piedade, Panjim.
