MARGAO: Collector South Thomas Tariq on Friday completed hearing the arguments in the proceedings filed for externment of Francis Pereira who was accused of desecrating religious places in the district to stoke communal tension.
Pointing out some crosses were desecrated in Madkai, even when Francis was in police custody, his lawyer Adv Eric Coutinho argued that it was not right to hold him responsible for all desecrations that occurred.
The Collector keeping the principle of fair play gave Adv Eric sufficient time to produce on record evidence of desecrations that occurred when Francis was in custody and the matter is now posted for January 18, 2019.
