MARGAO: A brother killed his own brother at Arlem-Raia on Sunday over a dispute relating to the house.
Police said the accused, deceased and another brother Seby Gaonkar were residing in the same house where the incident had occurred on Sunday.
The police who swung into action and arrested accused Agnelo Gaonkar, 28, for murder of his brother Jose Caitano Gaonkar, 42 in a drunken brawl. According to police information, the incident took place at around 2.30 pm at the house when the brothers both in drunken state had a fight and in a fit of anger Agnelo allegedly assaulted Jose with an iron rod causing grievous head injuries due to which he died on the spot. District police Chief Vijai Singh and Margao DySP Mohan Naik visited the scene of crime and PI Gurudas Kadam who is investigating the case under supervision of DySP Naik, registered an offence of murder under section 302 IPC against the accused Agnelo and further investigation is in progress.
