Army recruitment paper leaked, exam cancelled; 3 held in Anjuna

Exams were to be held in Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra; Paper allegedly leaked by those who run coaching classes

MUMBAI/MAPUSA: The army on Sunday countermanded examinations in six centres in western India for some lower-level posts following an alleged leak of question papers. The Maharashtra Crime Branch with the help of Anjuna Police arrested three people.
The examination centres where the tests were cancelled include Goa, Kamptee, Nagpur, Ahmednagar, Ahmedabad and Kirkee, army sources said.
The examinations were held for a number of posts, including soldier clerk and strongman and soldier tradesman, in 52 centres across the country.
The sources said army has ordered an internal enquiry and further action will be taken based on the findings, adding that tests at more centres are likely to countermanded.
Those arrested in Anjuna have been identified as Ranjeet Jadhav, Vaibhav Vadar & Ganesh Narse all residents of Maharashtra for the Military Exam paper leak issue. All three accused were caught with the papers at Sandhya Hotel, Anjuna. The police later verified the paper Army Camp Bambolim and took three of them into custody.
The examination papers of Army Recruitment Board were allegedly leaked following which the Thane Police’s Crime Branch conducted raids and arrested 18 persons from Maharashtra and Goa.
Around 49 candidates were about to appear for the exam in Goa. When the police received information about the paper leak, they conducted raid at different parts of Maharashtra, Nagpur, Thane  and Nasik and some areas in Goa. 
Sanjay Sable, Maharashtra Crime Branch official, said, “We conducted raids at different lodges and hotels on Saturday night. The raids continued till Sunday wee hours. We caught these three people red-handed with paper. Their role has not been established yet. They are been quizzed. 
Thane police has registered cases under Section 409, 420, 120 B IPC and IT Act 72.
