Goa Housing Board has asked the state government to pay the pending dues which have been accumulated since decades after land acquisition for Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) and Inspector General of Prisons (IGP).
Senior board official said that Rs 3 crore is pending from the KTCL while Rs 8 crore from IGP for their central jail facility at Colvale.
The board has written to the state government and concerned bodies reminding them about the dues, which has been pending since decades.
“We have a loan liability of Rs 34 crore on which interest of Rs 1.5 crore is paid to life Insurance corporation annually,” he said adding that if board recovers its dues than it will help to get out of red.
When asked, KTCL Chairman Deepak Dhawalikar said that they have not received any letter from the board. But at the same time he also agreed that corporation due to its weak financial situation failed to pay the dues amounting to crores of rupees to various departments.
“We have already asked the state government to settle various bills which are supposed to be paid by the corporation. It is now between government and housing board to settle the issue,” he stated.
