PONDA: Goa Engineering College (GEC) Assistant Professor has complained to the Vigilance Department, Chief Minister, Secretary of Union Public Service Commission, Principal of GEC and other authorities of the irregularities in the appointment of Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the college.
The professor alleged that the appointment was made by totally sidelining the criteria for selection of Class I Gazetted post.
Claiming to have support of most of his colleagues, the professor stated that injustice has been done to him and the other candidates who had applied for the associate professor’s post.
The complainant demanded that a probe be conducted into the appointment by experts in the field of Electrical Engineering.
The complainant said the appointment of Associate Professor has been done by violating the criteria laid down by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the apex body in Technical Education in the country.
The complainant claimed that he was one of the affected candidates due to irregularities done during the selection as the selected candidate furnished false information.
