MARGAO: Cuncolim police has booked the driver of the ill-fated Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) tanker which overturned and landed on the banks of a water body at Cuncolim on Thursday evening.
DySP Mohan Naik informed that the tanker driver has been booked for driving the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner causing the accident.
Replying to a question, DySP Naik said though the ATF fuel was de-canned from the ill fated tanker on Friday morning, the fuel has been returned to the Mangalore refinery Friday. “The de-canning process was completed only on Friday morning. But, the fuel consignment has been retuned to the refinery since it cannot be used for the aviation industry after the mishap. accident,” he said.
