MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council Chairperson (MMC) Babita Angle has rejected permission to the garbage collection drive planned at Comba wards by Clean Margao Green Margao (CMGM).
The CMGM has shelved its plan to collect dry waste from households in Comba, from February 21 and instead has decided to supervise the collection done by MMC workers.
The CMGM members met the chairperson and apprised her with the facts of garbage collection drive they planned to have on from February 21. After the discussion, the chairperson refused to give permission to CMGM to collect garbage.
CMGM member Rajendra Talak quoted Angle as saying, “It will create a parallel system of collection and will disturb the existing system in place.”
