Members of the BJP supported panel on Monday complaint to State Election Commission (SEC) about incidences of distribution of goodies and money allegedly by the rival panel Corporation of the City of Panjim Development Front (CCPDF) which is headed by Taleigao MLA Babush Monserrate.
Herald in its Sunday edition had published a detailed report about how and which goods such as refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, bicycles, sewing machines have been distributed to voters in certain pockets of the city in utter violation of the election code of conduct.
Panel head of Panjim First Ashok Naik told Herald on Monday evening that they have lodged their complaint to the Commission demanding that this trend of influencing voters on the strength of money power should be urgently stopped.
Meanwhile, State Election Commission (SEC) has appointed two election observers and two expenditure observers to see that no such irregularities are conducted by the candidates.
