MARGAO: Unknown culprits on Friday noon decamped with a bag containing cash of Rs one lakh from a car while it was being parked in the SGPDA market.
The incident occurred when the car owner Kanakraj had just parked his car and proceeded to a paint shop to make some purchases. Kanakraj told newsmen that the miscreants lifted the cash from his car within five minutes after he parked his car and headed to the paint shop. Besides cash, the miscreants lifted away two passports, besides cheque books from the vehicles. The victim had carried the cash to deposit the same in the bank.
Kanakraj later descended on the Margao police station to register his complaint of theft against unknown culprits.
This is the second incident at the SGPDA market when miscreants have successfully managed to lift bags from cars parked in the complex.
