MARGAO: A Judicial Magistrate First Class Vasco on Thursday remanded a Baina resident, one Chetan Naik and native of Karnataka for impersonating as a contractor and for cheating a Zuarinagar resident of Rs 5 lakh under the pretext of providing him a job in the Indian Navy, to four days judicial custody.
Verna Police said, “The accused is being interrogated.”It may be recalled Verna Police team headed by PSI S Kamat visited Delhi and in a late night operation arrested the accused from the slum area in Old Delhi, recently. He was brought to Verna Police Station. Naik was residing in Old Delhi as Dinesh Bandekar of Baina.

Police said they are interrogating the accused to ascertain whether he is involved in any other crimes and anti-national activities.
