The Association has pleaded with the Government to finalise the subsidy for bakers soon or they will be forced to raise the price of bread to Rs 5 soon. The bakers spoke on the back drop of the promise the former BJP Chief Minister of Goa made after the election.
Association¡¯s executive president Peter Fernandes said that Association will hold a prayer service at Socorro Church on October 2, which will be followed by a procession.
The Association also plans to submit a memorandum to the chief minister regarding their demands.
“We have learnt that the subsidy has been sent to the industries department for some technical clearance. But we need the scheme to be released soon as we won’t be able to firefight the expenses and the result we will be forced to raise the price of bread” said Peter Fernandes.
