As part of the event, UTAA will hold meetings in Sanguem, as well as a ceremony in which meritorious Scheduled Tribe (ST) students of Std 10 and 12 will be given scholarships in the name of the martyrs. The ST Commissioner of Madhya Pradesh will be the chief guest for the ceremony.
The association thanked the State government for fulfilling many of their demands, but also pointed out that some major ones still remained. At the official government function for tribals, Velip will be conferred the ‘Adivasi Pradnyawant Puraskar’ for his work in the field of education.
