Balli Sarpanch voted out of office

The Sarpanch of Balli Panchayat Govind Faldessai was on Tuesday voted out of office in a no confidence motion.
At a special meeting held on Tuesday morning, the motion tabled by five panchayat members against the sarpanch as carried by 5-0 votes.
The sarpanch along with four panch members were conspicuous by their absence.
Quepem BDO Manuel Barreto was present at the Panchayat during the proceedings.
The police made elaborate arrangements outside the Panchayat hall as a precautionary measure. Quepem Mamlatdar Sudin Nato was also present, while the Cuncolim police led by PI Nelson Albuquerque mobilized adequate force to tackle any law and order situation.
