PANJIM: The president of Goa Mining Association, Narayan Bandekar, has been elected unopposed as the President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the two-year term ~ 2013-15.
Bandekar will succeed Manguirish Pai Raiker who has been GCCI president for the last two years. GCCI in a press statement issued Wednesday has said that Bandekar has played an active role in the Chamber’s affairs for many years and was its Vice-President for the last 4 years. Bandekar is also Vice President of Goa Mineral Ore Exporters’ Association.
“With his vast experience, he is expected to give new directions to the Chamber and re-assert its position as the apex body representing trade and industry in the State and also work with the government in addressing the problems facing the State economy,” the GCCI press note states.
