Addressing a press conference here, Karapur Sarvan Panch and BBSM supporter, Dhiraj Sawant said that they would intensify their agitation in support of the mother tongue.
“We will have special meeting at Van-Maulinguem where vow will be taken and bands will be distributed to about 200 supporters. Later, there will be panchayat wise meetings and we would seek support of at least 6000 language lovers,” Sawant said.
Another mother tongue supporter, Shailesh Jadhav came down heavily on the government and warned that it would have to pay for the false promise it made during the last elections.
“The primary education should be in local language and if they do not stop grants to English medium schools, BJP would lose the next elections,” Jadhav warned. Mahesh Yende, Prasad Umarye, Babuso Gaonkar were among others present for the press meet.
