VASCO: The Quelossim Panchayat held a special gram sabha on Monday to discuss the matter of village development plan. The gram sabha members of Quelossim has criticised the Block Development Office representative (BDO) for being absent at the meeting of importance to the village.
The Quelossim Panchayat held its special gram sabha for the discussion on the Village Development Plan. However, the representative from the BDO never turned up at the meeting. “The meeting was planned so that the people could get their queries resolved as far as the formulation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan is concerned. However, the representative has not come today”, said Sarpanch Maria Souza.
“It is surprising that none of the BDO representatives turned up at such an important meeting of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan. The people were waiting to get their queries resolved as there is not one project that has been passed from the previous plan,” said Lopinho Xavier from Quelossim.
Lopinho has decided to write a strong worded letter to the BDO’s office to criticise this act as the people are counting on the officials for the planning of the village.
