Belarus National Arrested in Goa With Over 1 kg of Suspected DMT in Joint NCB–Pernem Police Raid

In a major narcotics crackdown, the Goa Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in coordination with Pernem Police, arrested a Belarus national during a joint raid at Pethwada, Korgao. The accused, identified as Ina Volkova, was allegedly found in possession of a substantial quantity of suspected psychedelic substances valued at nearly ₹1 crore.

Officials seized 933 grams of dark brown liquid believed to be DMT, 388 grams of coffee-coloured liquid DMT, 41 grams of raw wood bark used for extraction, and 8 grams of dried mushrooms during the operation. The haul indicates the presence of an active extraction setup, suggesting the drugs were potentially being processed locally.

Authorities are now investigating the extent of Volkova’s involvement in the narcotics network and whether more individuals are linked to the operation. The arrest marks another significant step in Goa’s intensified efforts to curb the rising circulation of synthetic and psychedelic drugs across the state.
