Bengaluru tourist goes missing at Dudhsagar

PONDA: Abdul Rafique, a 62-year-old tourist from Bengaluru has reportedly gone missing while on a trip to Dudhsagar on Thursday afternoon. 

The Collem police, forest officials and villagers joined in the search to trace the missing tourist but found could find any traces of in the thick forest till late Friday evening.

Police stated that they registered a missing complaint and would continue with the search operation on Saturday morning. 

Meanwhile the mystery of the missing tourist happened to baffle everyone in the area. 

Collem police said that missing person and his wife were in  tourist  Jeep  on a Dudhsagar trip and had  halted near a rivulet for a short break at around 1.30 pm when he suddenly went missing. 

The jeep passengers then frantically searched for him in vicinity in vain and later informed the police.

The cops who rushed to the site also joined in the search operation, but he could not be traced until late evening. The search was abandoned as it turned pitch dark and it was not possible for the team to move in the dense vegetation. 

The couple were on a holiday, were staying in a hotel at Varca and had come to visit Dudhsagar on Thursday when Rafique was suddenly reported missing.
