Exit poll projections for Assam have indicated a strong and decisive advantage for the ruling alliance, with multiple agencies suggesting that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is on course to secure a comfortable majority in the state. According to Today’s Chanakya, the NDA is expected to win around 102 seats, with a possible variation of nine seats on either side, along with an estimated 50 per cent vote share (±3 per cent). The projection reinforces a broader trend reflected across several exit polls, many of which suggest that the alliance is likely to form the government for a third consecutive term in Assam.
The Congress-led opposition, meanwhile, has been projected to secure significantly fewer seats. Today’s Chanakya estimates around 23 seats for the Congress combine, with a vote share close to 38 per cent (±3 per cent). The overall Poll of Exit Polls, which aggregates multiple survey predictions, suggests a similar outcome, projecting around 92 seats for the NDA and approximately 28 seats for the opposition alliance.
Other major exit polls also echo this pattern. Axis My India has forecast between 88 and 100 seats for the BJP-AGP-BPF alliance, while placing the Congress-led bloc in the range of 24 to 36 seats. JVC and Janmat polls present comparable figures, with NDA projections consistently hovering above the majority mark and opposition numbers remaining significantly lower.
Across all surveys, the ruling alliance is estimated to maintain a vote share lead, driven primarily by the performance of the BJP, supported by its allies AGP and BPF. However, analysts continue to caution that exit polls are not definitive and have historically shown deviations from actual results.
With multiple agencies pointing in the same direction, the overall sentiment suggests a continued advantage for the NDA in Assam, though final results will ultimately depend on the official counting of votes.
