It may be recalled that the incident took place at Marcel when the accused Amitha Bhomkar along with her two-and-half-year-old son had gone in search of her husband at Marcel who had not returned home since two days. When somebody informed her about his whereabouts, she visited the Marcel Panchayat where she found her husband taking rest at the construction building next to the panchayat. Both of them had heated argument and in a fit of anger she allegedly hit him with danda on his head which led to his death.
The locals called up 108 and shifted him to the Bethki Health Centre where the doctors declared him brought dead. The police arrested Amitha on October 27, 2015 and registered a murder offence under section 302.
