Bicholim youth held for cell phone theft

BICHOLIM: Bicholim Police arrested a 19-year-old boy from industrial estate area at Bicholim in connection with theft of mobile phones worth Rs 25,000.

BICHOLIM: Bicholim Police arrested a 19-year-old boy from industrial estate area at Bicholim in connection with theft of mobile phones worth Rs 25,000.
Police said the accused stole mobile phones by break opening Mahesh Music Corner at Bicholim Bazaar, owned by Mahesh Gad. Police recovered eight mobile sets and seven chargers worth Rs 25,000.
According to information, a person on Friday went to sell a mobile phone to Mahesh Gad and it turned out to be the same handset that was earlier stolen. Gad immediately called the police and the lead later led the police to the accused.
During interrogation, the suspect disclosed the name of Mehboob Shaikh, who had sold the mobile to him. The accused was arrested and has been remanded to four days police custody. PI Ninad Deulkar is investigating into matter.
Police Constables Nilesh Fogeri, Surendra Kerkar, Babaji Gaonkar, Kalidas Paste and Sakharam Gaonkar carried out the operation.
