Bids invited for construction of new Zuari bridge approaches

PANJIM: Expediting the construction of the eight-lane cable stayed bridge over River Zuari, the Union Ministry for Road Transport and Highways has invited bids to undertake the Rs 640 crore construction work of approach roads to the bridge from Siridao to Verna.

PANJIM: Expediting the construction of the eight-lane cable stayed bridge over River Zuari, the Union Ministry for Road Transport and Highways has invited bids to undertake the Rs 640 crore construction work of approach roads to the bridge from Siridao to Verna. 
The Union Ministry released the Request for Proposal (RFP) for construction of the approaches to the Zuari Bridge, Rs 2700 crore project, the foundation stone of which was laid on Jan 1. 
The contractor will have to complete the construction within 30 months of being awarded the contract, while undertaking maintenance for 48 months.
The final date for submission of bids is February 26, with technical bids to be opened on February 29. 
The Union Ministry had issued the first tender for the Zuari bridge at an estimated cost of Rs 850 crore, in October last year. 
The project will involve construction of the 4+4 lane cable stayed bridge.
