VALPOI: A labourer from Bihar was arrested with 5.1 kg of ganja worth Rs 5.10 lakh, near Hindu crematorium at Bordem in Bicholim on Wednesday at around 2.30 am.
Bicholim Police Inspector Sanjay Dalvi said that on specific information, a narcotic raid was conducted and the accused person Ajay Kumar, 21, was arrested along with 5.1 kg of ganja.
Besides the contraband material, police also seized from the accused a shoulder bag, wallet containing cash of Rs 200 and laminated copy of Aadhar card in the name of Ajay Kumar and a mobile phone. PI Sanjay Dalvi said that all these articles were attached under panchanama.
Later, on a complaint filed on behalf of the State by Police Sub-Inspector Harish Gawas of Bicholim police station, an offence has been registered against the youth.
