A Bill seeking to set up a separate Administrative Tribunal for South Goa was passed in the Goa Assembly on Friday.
The Goa Administrative Tribunals (Amendment) Bill 2009   amends s section 3 of the Act for constituting Administrative tribunal for each district. Each Administrative Tribunal will consist of President and Additional President. The South Goa Administrative Tribunal will be set up at Margao, the district headquarters.
All the applications and other matters relating to South Goa district pending before the Administrative Tribunal at Panjim, will be transferred to South Goa Administrative Tribunal.
The decision to constitute a separate Administrative tribunal for South Goa was taken at the last Cabinet meeting held last week.   Advocates Association had also made a demand with the government for appointment of a separate administrative tribunal for South Goa district.
