PANJIM: The Goa government plans to introduce the ‘Regularisation of Unauthorised Structures and Encroachments Bill, 2015’ in the forthcoming winter session of the State Legislative Assembly in January 2016, in a bid to fulfill its long pending promise to regularise identified illegal structures.
Residential structures, existing before February 28, 2014 with conclusive documentary evidence issued by a government department will be considered for regularisation.
“There are a number of illegal structures some of which are within one’s own property (disputed property) or on comunidade land, while some are encroached into government property. It is our responsibility to resolve the matter and regularise these structures,” Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said, during his address at the 54th Liberation Day celebrations at Campal on Saturday.
