PANJIM: Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai’s remark on weaponising the youth wing has not been appreciated by Minister Mauvin Godinho. “I do not agree with the statement. It might be his personal comment but one has to be careful while making a statement,” he said on the sidelines of a press conference on Thursday.
After inaugurating the new office of the Goa Forward Party on Tuesday, Sardesai, the GFP Chief, had stated that his party would go to any extent to protect “Goenkarponn” and may even “weaponise” its youth wing for the purpose.
“If need be we will weaponise them (Youth Forward) to see that Goenkarponn is protected. We are ready to go back on roads to protect Goenkarponn and we need support of all Goans,” he had said while addressing his party workers, and added that if aggression is bringing good for Goans then aggression should be looked at as a means to an end.
The BJP, Godinho said, will hold a meeting post-election process to ensure ‘best happens to Goa.’
Asked whether Sardesai’s statement will also be deliberated among the BJP leaders, the BJP MLA said all issues including the ‘weaponising youth’ remark will be discussed.
