PANJIM: Amidst rising crime in the State, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has defended its government and police machinery for their “sincere” and “honest” efforts in cracking the cases.
Addressing mediapersons on Friday, BJP spokesperson Yatish Naik said that the State government and police machinery are “hundred per cent sensitive towards maintaining the law and order situation.”
Naik said that the crimes are being cracked and investigated thoroughly and the law is taking its own course in every case.
“Government and police sincerity, efforts and honesty are at the display as all the cases are tracked, cracked and effective actions are taken,” he added.
The BJP functionary also appealed to political opponents not to make “politically motivated hollow” statements on the issues like crime and land grabbing. “Some political opponents are trying to mislead the people. There has to be a responsible attitude from the opposition also. They need to appreciate genuine efforts of the government in dealing with issues like crime and land grabbing,” he said.
Attacking Congress indirectly, Naik said that some leaders, who belong to the party that ruled the State for a long time and did nothing to bring in effective administration and also failed to take firm decisions, will not understand the meaning of effective administration and governance.
