MARGAO, MARCH 25
Senior BJP leader and MP Shripad Naik has said the BJP has no relation whatsoever with the G-7 group of MLAs and asserted that the party strongly favours dissolution of the Assembly and fresh elections
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function held to install the statue of Sai Baba at Gogol here this afternoon, Naik lashed out at the G-7, saying the group has been formed for selfish ends and would in no way going to benefit the state and its people.
Saying that not a demand raised by the G-7 members is for the good of the state and its citizens, the North Goa MP said some of the members of the group want to revive the SEZ, promote illegal mining and to ensure that they have their with the finalization of the Regional plan 2021.
“The BJP have been hearing about this G-7. But, we all know they have formed the group for their selfish ends. It is not for the benefit of the people”, he added.
Asked what would be the reaction of the BJP in the event the Kamat government is dislodged by the G-7, Naik said the BJP would demand that the state goes for the polls and give an opportunity to the people to give a fresh mandate.
“Politics has become a big business for these two-three political parties in the coalition government. We made it very clear that the BJP will have no truck with this group. Nothing good will happen and nothing will change”, he said, adding that the BJP would commit a big blunder if we have a truck with the G-7.
