CUNCOLIM: Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar recently stated that the goal of BJP government is overall development of the State and its dream is to provide essential needs to common people and marginalised communities.
While speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for erecting of flood protection wall at Postawada-Betul, organised by WRD Department, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the government has paved the way for creation of an ideal State of Goa under the guidance of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Further, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the project of erecting flood protection wall on Betul-Postwada Sal River bank has been pending for the last several years.
He said that many development works have started since he joined the BJP government.
WRD Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Betul Sarpanch Jose Sebi Fernandes and Panchas were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Filipe Neri said that the government’s focus is to fulfil the dreams of common man. 1,050 metre-long flood protection wall will be constructed from Betul Primary School to Postawada at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore. This will benefit 115 families who had to suffer due to flooding of Sal River.
Filipe Neri instructed the contractor to maintain the quality of work and not to delay the work.
He appealed to the citizens to cooperate in this work. The work will be completed in five months time, the minister said.
