PANJIM: Amidst controversies over issues like the Mhadei river water diversion, coal handling and national waterways, BJP Goa feels that the opposition party and vested interests are spreading negativity about the government. At a meeting of BJP MLAs on Friday, the leaders decided not to get affected by the negativity and instead fight it.
Party sources told Herald the government will counter every opposition attack on issues in the Budget session of the Assembly, scheduled next month.
“A lot of negativity is spread about the government, by the opposition party and some vested interests. We will not get affected by it and continue to work at the same pace for the welfare of the people of Goa,” said an MLA, who was part of the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. The meeting also discussed different development works in the constituencies and the status of each.
Parrikar is also expected to create awareness on his government’s works during his visit to constituencies starting from January 13. Several karyakartas will join the corner meetings and public meetings that will end in May. The CM will also explain to the people about the Budget to be tabled in the Assembly.
