PANJIM: BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra on Saturday said his party stand on the Uniform Civil Code is clear as BJP respects all religions and wants the best practices from all the religions.
“As far as BJP is concerned, the party stand is clear and it is also mentioned in our manifesto. BJP respects all religions and wants the best practices from all the religions so that gender equality is addressed,” Patra said at an interactive session on BJP completing three years at the Centre.
“Men and women are equal. I also want to thank each and every citizen of Goa because for what the country is striving, Goa has already got that. This is a great feat Goa has achieved,” Patra said.
Speaking about the change in politics after BJP- led government came to power at the Centre, Patra said a tea seller becoming Prime Minister of the country redefines the politics of the nation. “This is the biggest achievement of the country. During the last 70 years, we have seen that one family was deciding who should be the Prime Minister,” he added.
Patra also said that Modi has changed the basic script of Indian politics. He said that the victory in Uttar Pradesh indicates that the people are now voting not based on caste or religion, but on the basis of development.
