BJP spokesperson rejects allegations of a ₹100-crore campaign and expresses confidence in the party’s grassroots strength ahead of the Assembly polls.
BJP Goa spokesperson Siddhesh Sripad Naik has alleged that the Congress party weakened significantly in the State during Girish Chodankar’s tenure as Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president between 2018 and 2022.
Addressing the media, Naik claimed that several Congress office bearers resigned while Chodankar was leading the party. He also questioned the circumstances surrounding the defection of Congress MLAs during that period, suggesting it reflected poorly on the party’s leadership.
Responding to allegations that the BJP was running a ₹100-crore election campaign, Naik dismissed the claims, asserting that the party’s strength lies in its dedicated cadre of karyakartas rather than financial resources.
Expressing confidence ahead of the next Goa Assembly elections, Naik said the BJP is well-positioned to secure more than 30 seats and form the government in the State.
The BJP spokesperson maintained that the party’s organisational network and grassroots workers would play a crucial role in its electoral success.
