MARGAO: Two days of showers and Colva power consumers had to endure black outs for long hours on Thursday and Friday.
If fluctuations and a black out was the order of the day on Thursday, with the supply being restored only late in the night, Friday was no different. As overhead electric cables snapped after a tree came crashing down Friday evening, residents near the Colva fish market experienced a black out, with consumers calling for immediate action by the power dept.
They demanded that the Power department depute adequate number of linesmen at the Colva sub station to attend to emergencies. Though the Fire brigade cleared the road for traffic, the power department was struggling to restore power to the area till late night.
