VAGATOR: The lifeless body of a young man was discovered near the Hilltop Club in Vagator on Thursday afternoon. Tripathy’s body was found hanging from a tree in the open parking space adjacent to the club premises.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Tripathi, son of Vijay Tripathy. The 21-year-old was a resident of Vagator and originally hailed from Baleshwar, Odisha.
The brother of Tripathy identified the body. He said he was working in Vagator for the last two years. He was working as a waiter in a restaurant. “He had sent me a voice message where he appeared to be tense. After that when I called him, the phone was ringing, but he did not receive the call. Till 5pm I could not contact him. One of his waiter colleagues told me that at around 3.30pm he was seen in this area. While he told me that he would be working, the duty manager said he had taken off.”
Upon receiving the distress call the local police and emergency services reached the spot within no time. The authorities are currently investigation the matter and the body has been sent for the post-mortem.
