PORIEM: The body of the 18-yr-old teenager who had gone missing in a river at Velguem in Sattari taluka was retrieved yesterday morning.
Personnel from the Valpoi fire services informed that Shivkumar Pawar from Porvorim had gone for a swim in the river on Sunday was pulled underwater by a strong current. His friends tried to trace him but their efforts were in vain. Fire service personnel alongwith Valpoi police launched a search operation and continued till late night but could not trace the missing youth. The search operation was launched again on Monday and body of the missing youth was traced at around 12:30 pm.
