BICHOLIM: Alert residents from Bordem-Bicholim have urged the deputy collector to check the menace of a monkey causing danger to children in the area.
It may be stated that a monkey has created havoc in Bordem area as it is always seen with dogs and is very friendly to them. The dog at times also comes near the houses and does not even get afraid if driven away.
A delegation including former BMC councillor Narayan Betkikar, Bholanath Gad, Sham Shirodkar and Shailesh Fatarpekar on Friday submitted a memo to the Bicholim Deputy Collector to check the menace of the monkey.
They have stated that the monkey is seen killing the dog puppies and is also possible danger to small kids. In this respect they have demanded with the Forest Department to cage the monkey and relieve them from the menace.
