Border dispute between Tuem VP & Pernem discussed

This dispute is presently being tackled in the court of the Directorate of Panchayats.

Pernem: During a joint meeting held to discuss the long-pending boundary dispute between the Tuem village panchayat and Pernem Municipal Council, it was decided that a five-member committee would be formed to study and find a suitable solution to the confusing issue.

 In the presence of PMC and panchayat officials, and the Pernem and Mandrem MLAs, the issues faced by residents of both areas with regard to obtaining permissions to operate businesses and get house numbers, were brought up. This also affects the revenue of both panchayat and PMC. This dispute is presently being tackled in the court of the Directorate of Panchayats.
