Borkar is the second sarpanch after Narayan G Naik to be ousted from office during the current term of the panchayat, while Panch Rosalina Moniz is the only deputy sarpanch to be ousted from office. As reported earlier, there are disqualification petitions pending in the HC against five Sancoale panchas, including Ramakant Borkar and deputy sarpanch Shilpa Naik.

CORTALIM: Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar was on Monday voted out of office by 7-0 votes in favour of the motion.
