SANGUEM, NOV 12 A 12-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging to a fan at his residence at Vikasnagar-Uguem, Sanguem, late Thursday evening.

A 12-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging to a fan at his residence at Vikasnagar-Uguem, Sanguem, late Thursday evening.
According to sources, Shubham Tulshidas Naik, a Std 7 student, reportedly committed suicide over trivial matter at home, after being allegedly scolded by his mother. Shubham was known by all in the village as he used to take part in any activities organized in the village.
Immediately, after coming to know of the attempt made by Shubham to commit suicide, his mother and sisters, who were at home at the time of incident, ran to the room and brought down the body before calling 108 ambulance service.
Subham however, succumbed on the way to GMC Hospital, Bambolim, informed sources.
Speaking to Herald, Fr Michael Rebello, headmaster of Miracles High School, Sanguem, where Shubham was reading, was shocked to hear about Shubham’s death. “In school, Shubham was well behaved and studious student,” informed Fr Rebello.
Meanwhile, the suicidal death of Shubham has sent shockwaves in the surrounding areas of Uguem village and the parents in the locality were seen a worried lot as a boy of barely 12 years committed suicide.
