PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will present the State budget on March 24. “The session for the floor test will be held tomorrow while on March 22 there will be the Speaker’s election, followed by the Governor’s address on March 23, and on March 24 I will present the budget,” he said. “It will be more of a document based budget, which will have more of figures and less of speech. We will also consider the impact of GST on the State’s finances,” he added.Parrikar also said that he will consult the alliance partners while preparing the budget. “We have very less time but still we will manage. Budget will indicate mind of the BJP-led alliance government.”
He declined hiking tax stating GST will be implemented from July 1, 2017. “The State thereafter might hold a one day session to discuss the GST,” he said. On Thursday’s session, he said, he will just pass a motion to prove majority as per the SC order. “There won’t be any speech made,” he stated.
